Kate Caddle - life coach, writer, and intimate event facilitator.

Introducing Kate, a life coach, writer, and intimate event facilitator. Kate works with women whose lives look great on paper, but don’t feel so great on the inside. Helping them overcome jealousy, comparison and perfectionism, so they can take back their power, stop playing victim, and show up in their full potential.
Kate recently became a mum to the divine wee Flynn. We thought we'd touch base with her and find out how she stays true to herself all while being an amazing wife and mum...

At what point in your life did you decide to start embracing the real you and living the life you want?
I feel like it’s been a step by step process, and I’m constantly being shown parts of my life where I’m showing up to someone else’s expectations, and for me, that’s perfectly okay. I’m a reformed people pleaser, but the tendency is still there, so I need to watch myself, but I’m finding my rhythm, and I can tell you that I feel so much more alive for it.

As a mother you can sometimes find yourself getting stuck in the daily grind of motherhood. How do you find time to take care of you and stay true to who you are?
It's tough right? There’s always something else you ‘could’ or ‘should’ be doing, but at the end of the day I remind myself that without taking care of me, Flynn only gets part of his mama.

For me, it’s in the simple things these days, deep breaths, a long walk in the sunshine, and nourishing my body with the food that serves me. And I also lean on help. I didn’t really have a break from work when I had Flynn, so I lean on support from my mum and also my husband. That means sometimes I go to the gym, I have an afternoon nap.
One day I’ll be able to do a whole lot more again, but for not I’m embracing this season of my life. I think it’s important that we allow our village to be a part of the upbringing of our little people. There is strength in asking for help, not the other way around.

One’s appearance can sometimes dictate the way they feel. Do you value your appearance and style?
I do. I believe that the way we present ourselves shows the world who we are, or who we want to be seen to be. We have a choice on how we want to present, and it might change from day to day, but I do believe it’s a choice.

For me, I like to show up authentically as me. I wear the things that makes me feel good, I care for my skin and hair, and I treat my body with respect by moving and fueling it in the ways that serve me. I believe all of this contributes to how we look and feel much more than a brand new outfit. That’s just the icing on the cake!

What’s a simple thing mothers can do to boost their confidence and start embracing life?
Build their relationship with themselves! If you want to love your body, you need to start listening to what it’s telling you. The messages might start of quiet, but they will build over time! Your relationship with yourself is like any other in your life, it requires commitment, kindness, compassion and gratitude.

What’s your favourite piece of clothing in your wardrobe right now?
My new mum jeans. I’m not sure how on trend they are when you’re actually a mum, but I feel so good in them and they’re really easy to wear. Plus Flynn is fascinated by the rips, so I’m basically a walking toy if I need to distract him with something.

Is their one daily thing you love to wear, eat or do that puts a smile on your dial?
100% my daily chai tea, it’s my absolute favourite and I look forward to it every morning. (Mayde wet chai tea and Nutty Bruce Almond/Coconut milk is the perfect combo!)

Catching up with friends can be a boost we all need sometimes. What’s your favourite activity to do with your girlfriends?
Eat! I love cafe hopping with my gal pals, and I’m making the most of before Flynn is on the move!

Sometimes we all second guess ourselves and have moments of hesitancy. Do you ever second guess yourself and if so, how do you overcome this barrier?
Of course! But I used to do it a whole lot more often. Now I just check in with my gut. Time and time again, I have proven to myself that I know what is best for me, when I just listen to my instincts, and this couldn’t be more true for motherhood as well.

I put a lot of emphasis on building my relationship with myself, and I know that it helps me in a lot of ways, this being one of them.

Most of us fear something, what’s your biggest fear in life?
This is quite embarrassing, but I have a legitimate fear of vomit. So much so that I questioned becoming a mother over it! But after a conversation with my husband, he was happy to deal with it if I dealt with the other end. (I know, charming!!)

What’s one of your favourite things/activities to do?
Sunday is my favourite day of the week because it’s our family adventure day. We usually take both of our dogs and walk to our favourite local cafe for breakfast. Then we’ll go for a swim on hang out by the water, and we finish the day with dinner at my parents place. Spending time with loved ones is my absolute favourite!

Are you a 'pyjama girl' or a 'bare it all girl’ for sleeping?
PJ girl for sure!

What’s in your handbag right now?
My favourite little Chloe purse, Hurrah lip balm, my (smashed) iPhone, some nappies and wipes, a muslin and a baby maraca!
